Bubble-laden turbulent flows

We are analyzing results from experiments and interface-resolved Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS) of bubble-laden turbulent flows to understand how the bubbles modify the properties of the turbulent flow across the scales, as well as understand the motion of the bubbles themselves. The aim is both to develop a fundamental understanding and characterization of the multiscale physics of these flows (e.g. see https://arxiv.org/pdf/2104.00449.pdf) as well develop new models to predict their behavior (e.g. see https://journals.aps.org/prfluids/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevFluids.5.0843…).
